Can't seem to create a correct reg file for hasp4 dongle emulation

Post by imaichel on Wed Apr 17, 2013 12:54 pm

Hello Guys,

I am trying for a few days now to create a registry file to emulate a Hasp4 basic lpt dongle without success. I have read many many topics here and create a reg files according to instructions I have found.
But still I can't get the software to work.

I would love some help about this if possible.
Here is a link to a zip file: h t t p : / / w w w .mediafire.com/?b2kbogg2h9gunjb
The zip file contains:
1. The hasp.dmp I created using h5dmp.
2. The registry file I created using UniDumpToReg

As I understand I have to add to the registry file the '"DongleType"=dword:00000001' string. I have tried, it didn't work. Maybe the dongle type is not 1?
Regarding the hhl_mem file, the h5dmp did not create it. As I understand this dongle is hasp HL Basic and does not have memory. So I created a dummy file.
Still, did not work (I am using Multikey 18.1).
I am working with a Win7 64bit laptop.

If anyone can please help me create a full registry file(I mean that I would not have to guess which strings to add to it) it would be much appreciated.
If any more info is needed I will be happy to add.

One more thing, I am really not lazy... I have searched and tried all the tools and read all topics in every forum, for real :-)

Thanks a lot in advance,
Itay.

wow, thanks for the quick replay.
I dumped it but I am not familiar with the .bin file.
Can you please give in points with which tool should I use to proceed. I have tried UniDmp2Reg(version 1.1b5 PB) but which of the options should I use? Only two are available:
"SafeKey SafeHardlock", "vUSBbus Hardlock".

I am attaching the dump just in case: h t t p: / / w w w.mediafire.com/?662v93ixe12aglf

Thanks again.

Thank you very much for the registry file.
As I mentioned, I am working on Win7 64bit.
I loaded the registry file and installed Multikey 18.1 64bit(is this ok?) but unfortunetly I am still getting the "Hasp Protection System" dialog saying - "HASP key not found (-3)", when I start the software.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi,

'there', I understand your frustration, I have been trying to get it work for days.

Nevertheless, 'hasp', I really appreciate the effort of trying to help me and many more in this forum.

Obviously, I am no expert but I am sure this should work somehow. Surely I am not the only one with Win7 64bit.

'hasp', please don't give up on me just yet. Is there anything I can check or do?
I noticed that when I dumped the dongle with HaspHLDumper1.01 tool you gave me, it raised a popup saying this is Hasp 3. Does this mean anything? Maybe the DongleType isn't 1?
Again, I have no idea this is only a guess.
I am attaching a picture of both sides of the dongle, if you think this can help in any way please have a look. h t t p : / / w w w.mediafire.com/view/?584xygux7uwwz8u

Again, many thanks for all your help.

GOOD NEWS!

I got this work.
First, 'hasp' your reg file was perfect! Thank you so much!

I had a feeling there is probably something small I missing. So this is the thing(you can laugh at me if you want... I deserve it)The problem was I missed one small but critical step.
Using the dseo13b utility, I only enabled Test Mode. I DID NOT sign the multikey.sys driver file after installing it. Once I signed it, the software recognized the dongle and worked perfectly.
I noticed this step is not mentioned in most threads I have read, so if this will help anyone else I am very pleased.
Everyone: In the device manager, if you see a yellow exclamation sign next to the "Virtual USB MultiKey" system device than the multikey will not work, trust me on this :-)

Once again, 'hasp' thank you for your help.
