Newbie advice

Post by davidjm on Thu Mar 22, 2018 6:49 am

I am pretty sure i am being a muppet and am likely to be told to read the manual but i have tried cloning a USB dongle a couple of times and keep running into brick walls.

I have a piece of software running on a VM that i want to clone the dongle for so i can migrate it. The dongle has HASP HL written on it and when i plug it in it shows as Aladdin Knowledge HASP HL 3.25

I have tried the HASP key 5.2 driver and Toro Aladdin Dongles Monitor in Win7 32 bit and that didnt connect, i updated the HASP driver and the software worked but again the monitor didnt connect. So i build a WinXP system and again the software didnt work with the HASP 5.2 (or 5.22) driver, however it does work with the latest Version 7.65 but the Toro monitor doesnt report any info when the program opens?

I am clearly getting this all wrong, any tips?

you are using wrong tools a decade old ones.

check my tutorial and if you can't, ask PM any decent with + reputation RE to help solve it.

http://exetools.team-talk.net/t602-basic-srm-backup-tutorial

not all public and not free just you known it from start.

other way is to do your self, but not expect more than is already public.

DONE because I was asked to !

I am not sure i am getting anywhere fast with this, so far:

I have installed MKbus via command line, that seemed to work except device manager says there is an MKbus USB device with no driver.
I tried using the driver signing software but although that said it worked I still couldn’t install.
Finally I tried disabling signatures uising F8 but that still doesn’t work!
I then tried running the REG file, which said it updated the registry but my software still won’t work, is it the MKbus driver?

I now have a system running ins test mode that simply won’t run the MKbus

Any ideas?

disable secure boot from bios

enable test mode from cmd file from rar

install emulator and try soft.

and keep your dongle data safe.

Hi,

Tried that, unfortunatly it makes no difference. To clarify:

The test machine is Win7 32 bit
The HASP is Aladdin HASP SRM
It is running in test mode
I have disabled signitures using F8 at boot - is that the BIOS thing?
I havent followed any howtos - i havent found any!
I have tried to install various versions of Mkbus - thought i needed too?
I have run the REG file to add the key to the registry

Thanks for your help

Mkbus not support SRM dongle emulation only driver related stuff.

I have disabled signatures using F8 at boot - is that the BIOS thing?

Secure boot in BIOS is found.

but, you have your solution properly made and working?

why you need another Mkbus???

I don't understand you, you have a big confusion, Mkbus support 3 major dongle types and with limitations.

We were talking since beginning of time about this all over forums.
all technical instruction were presented 100x time.
almost 90% of newer dongles can't be emulated with public free solutions get it?

if you google it or search in this forum in couple of days you will understand this I already told many.
